Fancy travelling in space and time: our digital voyage might just be the thing you are looking for. Not expensive, no packing involved, no visas needed... all that is needed is a desire to evangelize and an internet connection… Simple, enough.
Missionaries on the web. A special quest ICEnet has embarqued on.
ICE-net is the first web networking mission of the Emmanuel Community. The name of the project stands for International Catholic Evangelization Network. Our goals are to evangelize through the internet and to train young online missionaries, thus creating a network dedicated to spreading the “Good News” on the digital continent.
Internet has become an important part of everyday life: a place where people hang out on, work, communicate, amuse themselves, shop, acquire knowledge, make new friends and even find lifelong partners. Because internet has become a place of meeting and spending time it has also become a new ground for evangelization. If you spend a lot of time online and have a strong desire to evangelize ICEnet just might be the thing for you.
The cornerstones of the projects are:
ONLINE MEETINGS
The members and the team of ICEnet meet virtually online by the use e-meeting tools.
FORMATION
An important part of ICEnet is also formation, we need to equipped for encounter in the digital world and to reflect our own work and actions.
INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS
Besides meeting virtually online we also meet live several times a year to get to know each other better, to discuss relevant issues, have trainings etc.
EVANGELIZATION PROJECTS
Because of different interest and availability and skills we work each year on different projects in which the participants can actively give their input.
ONLINE MISSION
Projects are not enough, evangelization on the internet has to be present in the use of existing tools and technology that why we encourage a missionary attitude in every day internet usage.
COMMUNITY LIFE AND FRIENDSHIP
The participants of ICEnet live a Community life with companionship and household meetings in their local area with an emphasis of friendship.
