Do you want to be happy? Are you young and looking for more meaning in your life? Do you want to live your faith more fully and to find answers to your questions?
Join Emmanuel Youth... an exciting way to live your faith, deepen your relationship with Christ, build friendships, and become a witness of joy and hope in the world! The Emmanuel Young people are all over the World. The Emmanuel youth want to live with God, who is close and who is interested in the life of each and everyone of them. Together they come to experience that Christ loves them and calls them to be a sign of hope for others. Their joy and dynamism comes from a common commitment to share the Gospel with everybody. On Thursday the 3rd of February 2011, Pope Benedict XVI elaborated on the charism of the Emmanuel Community : “Dear friends, the profound grace of your Community comes from Eucharistic Adoration. From this Adoration is born compassion for all and from this compassion is born the thirst to evangelize”. The Emmanuel Youth meet in small groups (households) one evening a week or once a fortnight and at several weekends during the year. They also organize missionary and charity projects. To join them click on your country in the Get connected box on the main website, or send a message to youth@emmanuel.info.
The Emmanuel Community was born in Paris in 1972, at the heart of the Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church, following the Second Vatican Council. Today, with more than 9,000 members, the Community is present in 57 countries. All states of life are represented: families, single people, priests (220), seminarians (115), consecrated lay people living in celibacy for the kingdom (180 brothers and sisters). Together, in the complementarity of their states of life, they strive to respond to the call of God: to serve and to proclaim Christ in the contemporary world.
The Moderator of the Emmanuel Community is Laurent Landete. The community is governed by the International Council. On 20 June 2009, the Emmanuel Community was erected as an International Public Association of the Faithful by a decision of the Pontifical Council of the Laity.
